Problem-Based Learning (P.B.L.)
Problem-based learning (PBL) or Problem-Based Learning (PBL), as it is known internationally, is a teaching-learning methodology in which the presentation of a problem situation is used to motivate the study of students.
In the Unilogos System the students, or students working in groups autorreguladosand the teacher assumes the role of a tutor or learning Advisor. In PBL, oral exposure of matter, in the form as in traditional teaching, is significantly reduced.
The PBL sessions always begin with the presentation of situation-problem involvingconcepts worked previously, which are subjected to analysis by students, who try to define and solve using knowledge available. From this initial discussion, students:
(a) raise hypotheses and the advocate, based on data presented in the problem;
(b) prioritize and determine the concepts to be explored;
(c) determine the responsibilities of each Member of the group, the deadlines, the sources etc.;
(d) arriving at a satisfactory solution, and the advocate before the class and the guardian;
(e) and finally assess the process, themselves and the Group
(REGISTRAR SON; RIBEIRO, 2008).
Each section of PBL will consist of three steps. Called A, B and C.
The steps (A) and (C) shall be carried out in the classroom or AVA, but on different days.
Step B will be effected outside the classroom (field).
The stage, which is held in the classroom or AVA, is the diagnosis of the problem, it is estimated to be required, on average, 30 minutes, for its realization.
In this step, the activities are divided and performed by professor and sequentiallyby the student.
The teacher will accomplish the following activities:
the) expose the problem situation;
b) Clarify the unknown terms;
c) Make questions to students in order to awaken the initial knowledge about the topic;
d) Perform short explanation for the class on the subject, in order to guide the students in the search for solution;
e) and check the delivery date, next meeting of P.B.L., in step C, the solution found to the problem situation.
The students will carry out the following tasks
the) will reflect on the situation-problem, and expose your initial knowledge about the subject in open forum for the topic;
c) will raise the initial assumptions for the resolution of the problem situation;
d) the Coordinator of each group will distribute the points for study and production of the Journal Article;
and) Fill the assessment report intended for the stage, which consists of a summary of the Group's initial knowledge on the subject
The students will perform the following activities
the) students will do self-study using books, magazines and printed several;
b) each student will fill your Individual report of research;
c) In Forum, the group, or the student, will discuss about the situation-problem in the light of the new knowledge obtained through the individual study;
d) the student must send his/her individual research report containing the items that were under his responsibility;
Seven steps for the development of P.B.L.
1. reading of the problem, identification and clarification of unknown terms;
2. identification of the problems proposed by the utterance;
3. explanatory assumptions for the problems identified in the previous step (students will use this stage of knowledge available on the subject);
4. Summary of assumptions;
5. Formulation of learning objectives (this is the identification of what the student must study to deepen the incomplete knowledge formulated in the explanatory hypotheses);
6. individual Study of the issues raised in the learning objectives;
7. Return to the Group tutorial for review of the problem facing the new knowledgeacquired in the previous study.

Our Assessment system is dedicated to measuring the potential of each according to the PBL method. In this way our scoring system is conceptual. There is a collaborative work within the same class, where the student who is dedicated to guiding a colleague has a better concept.
